Qiang Yang is a chair professor at Computer Science and Engineering Department at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). His research interests are artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining and planning. He is a fellow of AAAI, ACM, IEEE, IAPR, AAAS and CAAI. He received his PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1989 and had been a faculty member at the University of Waterloo between 1989 and 1995. He had been the founding director of the Huawei's Noah's Ark Research Lab between 2012 and 2015 and the founding director of HKUST’s Big Data Institute. He was the head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department from 2015 to 2017. He was the founding Editor in Chief of the ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology (ACM TIST) and the founding Editor in Chief of IEEE Transactions on Big Data (IEEE TBD). He received the ACM SIGKDD Distinguished Service Award in 2017. He is currently the President of IJCAI (2017-2019) and an executive council member of AAAI.

Mr. Xiongshan “Sam” Cai is the Deputy Director and the Chief Researcher of the Legal Research Center at Tencent Research Institute. He is also a supervisor for LL.M. students at the Communication University of China. He was a visiting scholar at Yale University. Mr. Cai received a master’s degree from the Transnational Law and Business University in Korea and another master’s degree from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne’s EU and International Economic Law Programme.

Mr. Cai worked at the Policy and Economics Research Center of the Institute of Telecommunication Research at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. His areas of expertise are Telecommunications- and Internet-related legislation and research, intellectual property protection, competition law, and WTO rules research. He also served as a negotiator representing the Chinese government in the China-Switzerland Free Trade Zone negotiations. Mr. Cai was invited to give a keynote speech in English at the WTO in March 2012. He was also invited to deliver a speech to introduce the Chinese Internet industry and Internet legislation at Oxford University in March 2014, and served as a judge at the final round of the International Price Media Law Moot Court Competition. Andrew Kusiak

Dr. Andrew Kusiak is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at The University of Iowa, Iowa City and Director of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory. He has chaired two departments, Industrial Engineering (1988-95) and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (2010-15). His current research interests include applications of computational intelligence and big data in automation, manufacturing, product development, renewable energy, sustainability, and healthcare. He has published numerous books and hundreds of technical papers in journals sponsored by professional societies, such as the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Institute of Industrial Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Nature, and other societies. He speaks frequently at international meetings, conducts professional seminars, and consults for industrial corporations. Dr. Kusiak has served in elected professional society positions as well as various editorial boards of over fifty journals, including five different IEEE Transactions.

Professor Kusiak is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing. Besides his academic appointment at the University of Iowa. His past academic appointments, include the Technical University of Nova Scotia (now Dalhousie University) and the University of Manitoba in Canada. He has held distinguished research professorships at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China), University of Hong Kong (SAR), and King Abdulaziz University (Saudi Arabia) as well as visiting positions at the University of Lion, Institute National Polytechnique de Grenoble, University of Nancy (France), and the University of Montreal (Canada). Dr. Kusiak has co-advised PhD students at the University on Munich (Germany) and Institute National Polytechnique de Grenoble (France). His lab has hosted numerus visitors from different countries. Professor Kusiak is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing.

Professor Renquan Lu received his doctor of philosophy from Zhejiang University, Scholars of the Yangtze River, the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Zhang Faen has the experiences on technical research and developing and management in IT industry of over 10 years, and he deals with many fields, such as enterprise-level software, indoor map positioning and navigation, Internet search engine, full-field knowledge atlas, big data analysis and storage, machine learning, and deep learning, etc. He has obtained more than 10 USA patents and more than 30 Chinese patents during the work.

Zhang Faen was the director architect of research and development in Baidu, the chairman of technology committee and the primary architect for big data and AI of the Cloud CalculationCareer Department of Baidu, and he also worked in the field of research and development in Google and Microsoft.

Zhang Faen was graduated from Software Institute of CAS and has the master diploma of computer software and theorey.
